L. impetere = to assail, to attack.
Impetigo contagiosa, or school sores, is a pustulous, crusty bacterial infection of the skin. Most commonly found in kids. Impetigo due to Staph. aureus tends to present with bigger bullae compared to beta-hemolytic streptococci.
